GRANDMA LEE'S EGGNOG

Grandma Lee is grandmother to 15 grand/stepgrandchildren and believe it or not over 20 great grand/stepgrandchildren. And she's hoping to be around to see her first great great grandchild. Personally I'm hoping that won't be for a long time as I'm not ready to be a grandmother myself anytime soon, seeing as I'm one of the elder grand/stepgrandchildren.  LOL


Grandma Lee has the best eggnog around! Sometimes it's a little too good though as Grandma Lee gets a little too generous with her rum at times. Grandma Lee's mother in law was a bootlegger/rum runner back in the day so I think she has access to some of the best rum around. She won't tell us what rum she uses and won't even let us see the bottle. Who knows what we're drinking!

CANDY CANE


Candy canes have always been a Christmas time staple in everyone's house. Used for everything from decorating the tree to baking and placing in the kids stockings.

COOKIES FOR SANTA

We always leave cookies out for Santa and a little note from each of the kids. One year, when my oldest was around 6, my daughter decided Santa would like a lot of different cookies and a bunch of carrots for his reindeer for their long journey. My sister and brother in law happened to be in town for the holiday that year, before they had children of their own. The honor was bestowed upon my brother in law to eat the cookies and carrots. So he waited up until she finally went to sleep and ate them. The next morning my brother felt so sick form eating so many cookies. We were laughing at him so much. We told him he didn't really have to eat ALL of them. He ate about a dozen cookies! He thought he was doing something good for her.

NAUGHTY MRS CLAUS

All year long Santa is always so busy checking his naughty or nice list that he seemed to overlook the most important one of all, Mrs Claus. Mrs Claus has been VERY naughty.  All year she tries so hard to get Santa's attention, all the while Santa is busy checking his list, making toys and reading letters from little boys and girls. Walking around in her sexy lingerie, elves gasping! Santa not even noticing once. 


Mrs Claus had had enough. 

When Santa finally returned, he actually had a very big surprise for her! He didn't forget her after all. Mrs Claus was finally happy.

AUNT HATTIE MAE'S SWEET POTATO PIE

Aunt Hattie Mae always made the best sweet potato pies. Bringing over up to 10 pies at a time for the family and not one slice being left over. She would tell stories how she would make cake without eggs and growing up on a farm so poor that she had to make do with what they had at that time, using fresh cream and butter. Aunt Hattie Mae isn't around anymore and she took her sweet potato pie recipe with her along with many others. Many of us to this day are trying to figure out many of her recipes. Maybe one day.
